Date & Time: Thursday March 11, 2021 ; 19:30-21:30 HKT
Facilitated by Thomas Miller on Zoom, with Cantonese interpretation
On a human level, the situation in Hong Kong may seem very daunting. However, partnering with allies in other domains of consciousness gives us access to new possibilities. This session will use methods of sacred activism that the Findhorn Foundation and the Lorian Association developed through decades of work with the non-physical dimensions. The intention of the session is to co-create blessing and support for the people of Hong Kong.
Event details :
Since 1962, The Findhorn Foundation in Scotland has worked to develop a new kind of spirituality. In this session we will use subtle activism meditations that the Findhorn community - and also the Lorian Association, which grew out of Findhorn - have tested and refined. Our intention is to support the people of Hong Kong during this difficult time.
This form of sacred activism works with the underlying, non-physical dimensions of life. Since it first became famous for cooperating with the consciousness of plants, the Foundation has been exploring how humans can work with the non-physical dimensions of the world. This now includes the beings - or fields of consciousness, if you prefer - that influence human systems and constructs, like groups, buildings and cities. By aligning ourselves to the sacred love that is the origin of us all, we can partner with them.
Co-creating with them like this offers many advantages. While our human ability to generate influences is powerful, we often do not know how best to distribute it in order to have the best effects. Non-physical allies help us with this. Subtle and spiritual allies also can add to our understanding of situations and make us aware of resources and other allies we might not have known about before.
What will we do that day ?
We will begin with an ‘attunement’, a practice developed at Findhorn to come into resonance with ourselves, the group and the purpose of the activism.
Next we will have an explanation of this form of sacred activism: how it works and who we will be working with. This is necessary because some of what we do is very different from other kinds of spiritual practice and can even seem counterintuitive.
After this, we will do a meditation for coming more into our whole-spectrum self. This is to make sure we are best-resourced to be able to offer blessing. It is also to make sure that we are showing up with generativity and love, rather than fear or concern.
The sacred activism work comes next.
If time permits, we will have a final period to share what came up for us.
What do you mean by a field of consciousness ?
Human groups have a field of shared emotions, thoughts and subtle energies. If you have ever been part of a big crowd, you can feel this.
However, on a different level, there are also spiritual beings that are attracted to working with human systems and constructs like groups, universities, cities, countries and so on. Being closely connected with the sacred, they bless, protect and foster human systems with an unselfish, unwavering love.
We can ‘tune into’ them by holding the system we are working with in our awareness with love and an intention to bless it. That will attract their benevolent attention and put us in connection with the subtle partner.
*** On a side note, in the West some people call these ‘angels’, while others find the term offensive or distracting for cultural reasons. In the East, one term that is sometimes used is ‘deva’, but this word also carries some cultural baggage.
‘Field of consciousness’ is scientific-sounding, but perhaps more neutral. However, it’s important to note that most people don’t experience these in a scientific, neutral way. Instead, most people relate with them through love and report feeling comforted and blessed by their encounters with them.
How is what we are doing different from sending love and light to a place?
It is difficult to describe working with subtle and spiritual levels because the normal rules of physical space do not apply.
Physically we can’t be two places at once. On non-physical levels, if we are inwardly present with a person or place, our influence is present within them as well, so physical distance is irrelevant and therefore we are not ‘sending’ anything per se. It is more as if we are sharing the same space with them and offering what is within us into their interior.
What we’ve generally found is that if people think about ‘sending’ love and light, they generally feel somewhat separated or distanced from the person or place, and most often they feel some sense of strain or effort when they are ‘sending’.
When people realize that their influence is not limited by physical distance, but that when I am inwardly present to others, I am energetically and spiritually present with them, usually our efforts to bless or influence them become much more efficient and effective.
A second point it is very important to remember is that we are not forcing our energy into a situation. It is like the difference between talking with someone who is trying to make you agree with their point of view vs talking with someone who is offering you their presence and loving support and suggestions, but not trying to make you do something.
